We have a blue man-made stone bench-top with a hob fitted which is on it's way out. We want to replace it with a new hob, but the depth of the cut out is 470mm, while new hobs are 490mm deep, so the hole needs to be made a little bit bigger. Also, there is a gap where two pieces of the benchtop join, and three cracks around the hob cut-out which have been filled with a similar material to the benchtop, but are not smooth, and need to be polished down to a smooth continuous finish. We have been recommended a Liquid-glass drop finish from friends.
