cracked bricks surrounding log burner

Have bricks (summerhill stone) on internal wall surrounding fireplace in lounge that are cracked after the earthquake, and everytime it rains, we have unwanted moulds and mushrooms growing in it. Our house is waitig to be inspected by EQC but this problem can't wait. This is EQC related, and was told that I can organize to have it fixed if not more than 2,000 dollars. This is urgent job as I have asthma and this is causing me problems, so it will be who ever is the one who comes first and can do the job quickly for as long as under 2,000 dollars and EQC will pay. Not sure who specializes this, but I will tick the fireplace installers.
