Electric cylinder to Rinnai gas in Kitchen

I currently have a small hot water cylinder under the kitchen bench that goes colour after filling the sink one or is not hot when I have not used it. The rest of the house is on a Rinnai continuous hot water system. I am keen to get a plumber to disconnect the hot water cylinder and reconnect the hot tap to the Rinnai. There is easy access below the house in the basement and I would look to run the pipe back to the laundry tap (10-15m).
