Washing machine drain pipe - needs proper connection

Have moved in, and there doesn't seem to be any place to put the washing machine drain pipe under the sink like I've had in other houses - it's really irritating. I assume its pretty simply swapping one part out of for another but I don't want to risk stuffing it up DIY and having leaks etc. No rush, not urgent - but next couple of weeks would be cool if available and have the money spare that week depending on the quote.
