Carport drainwater connection to rain water storage tank

We need to connect the drainage from our carport roof into the nearby rainwater storage tank. In the photo the tank sits behind and below the carport. The pipe connection from roof of the house runs directly through the centre of the carport. There is a downpipe installed from the carport roof to ground level.
