Install mains or gas hot water in Featherston

We are considering upgrading our hot water cylinder to mains pressure or gas hot water in order to get better pressure out of the shower. Interested in your opinion on if this will work(or an alternative suggestion) and a detailed quote for how much it will cost. The current cylinder is located in a cupboard in the laundry...no idea how old it is.
