French drain / Field drain

Back part of the section is becoming water logged after rain so looking to put a French drain across the backyard to drain off the water. Would be looking to have this done around the week starting 15 May. Would need someone to have a look at it as unsure if machinery would be needed or could be dug out by hand, just getting machinery on the property could be difficult as really only a standard gate access.
