Remove waste disposal unit and troubleshoot leaking diswasher

My dishwasher is leaking out of the front. This only appears to happen when I haven't flushed out the waste disposal every couple of days. I don't use the waste disposal but it seems to have have blockage unless I flush out. As it's an old unit I'd just like to remove it if possible. There is another job --- to replace the panels. Currently the dishwasher is jammed in due to the swolllen boards and so probably I'd need to do the plumbing first and then panels next.
