I am managing this project for my daughter’s house. Since buying the property two large (approximately 2metres by 1 metre) sink holes have appeared in her lower back yard. The last sink hole appeared last week and is undermining a path and carport, so we deem this to be an urgent job. We also have a small amount of water seeping into the garage under the house. It is minimal and only pooled on the garage floor once in the heavy rain periods this year. The house was built in the 1950s it is weatherboard on a concrete block base. We have been in contact with council, but they have advised us there are no records on file with regard to drainage systems for the property or the surrounding area. What we believe we need done: 1). CCTV inspection of all existing drains to find out where they go from and to and if any of them are broken or blocked. 2). Investigate the cause of the sink-holes that have recently opened up and propose solutions and cost estimates. 3). Propose solutions and cost estimates for water seeping into the garage. Please only reply if you can do the work in the very near future. We want to stop the sink-holes getting any bigger! Photos are of bits of the puzzle we know about. Sorry, they don’t convey that much information. I believe a site visit is essential. We are happy to pay for time doing inspections and quotes
