I recently moved into a new place, and it came with a very old laundry tub which did not bother me at first. Previous owner assured me that there used to be a leak in the laundry room but not anymore. I purchased a washing machine and dryer, while installing both machines and testing them, the tradesperson from Harvey Norman noticed water started pooling at the bottom of the laundry tub (see picture). The tradesperson thinks that there could be cracks in the pipe and when the washing machine drains, water leaks out. There is another slow leak from the pipe connected to the basin mixer but it doesn't bother me as it can be replaced. Tradesperson recommended that I should get the drainage pipe checked to see if there are other parts of the pipe that could be problematic. I would like to have someone give me a quote to check and fix any leaks. I am now wondering if I should replace the old wash tub, and if yes, does it matter which brand and which type of wash tub I buy? Many thanks in advance!
