Cracked Exterior Sewage Pipe
Job description
After the Auckland floods, I noticed a large amount of water running out of the perforated pipe drainage around the base of the concrete slab of the house. I was able to find the cause of the problem: A cracked U-bend section of the sewage pipe leaving the house. I am looking for a plumber to repair the damaged pipe. I’m not sure if the increased water table level put stress on the pipe or if it cracked due to old age. I did have some waterproofing done on the wall near the damaged pipe a year ago, but there were no leaks until recently so I don’t think that the damage occurred then. I have attached some images of the leaking pipe, as well as some photos taken a year ago for reference. Please provide a quote to repair the leaking pipe. I’m not sure if this would qualify as an insurance job or not. Secondly, I have a basin in a downstairs room that doesn’t have enough fall to drain properly. This basin drains into the same sewage pipe that is leaking, able it a bit higher up. Since the sewage pipe has been dug up and will need repair, I’m interested to see how much extra it would cost to connect the basin pipe to a lower point on the sewage pipe to increase the fall.
