Toilet - water continually running

Hi, I have a toilet that has water constantly running. Whatever I try and do, water runs constantly through the toilet when it is not being flushed, to lesser and greater extents. Whilst the toilet is still able to be used, it emits a very annoying noise - which is a problem as it is located in the en suite. I have tried to identify solution without success - hopefully it's a relatively simple fix. It is a Jika branded toilet and is 8 years old.
