Weird smell coming from the shower drain hole or sink hole

Hiya! My small ensuite bathroom occasionally has weird smell coming from either the shower drain or the sink drain. I have used drain cleaner from Mitre10 to try and give it a rinse 3 times over the past 6 months and the smell comes back. It's very random. It's a bit of a farty smell but it's not super overpowering. Husband and I have also pulled out the shower plug hole area and we clean that regularly and the smell reappears so it must be something else. Any ideas? Any quotes or ideas would be appreciated! Any questions welcome. Thanks! From a super busy couple.
