Install a rain water collection tank

I have a small urban water tank to install as shown on this you tube link if it will show on this web site. it is a rain line --- That shows a straightforward urban water tank being installed.. Issues I have is that I have had to obtain different connector tubing as the house down pipes are a different size than those illustrated. There is a concrete windowsill in the way of the pipe height. I have bought concrete blocks to elevate the tank so that the pipe from the down pipe will be higher and above the window sill. I want someone who has installed these particular tanks before and can prove that. If the down pipe is cut incorrectly that would be a problem. The tap in the tank has already been installed.
