Re-line broken clay sewer pipe and remove buchan trap if not needed

Job description

Drain Repair & Inspection
Auckland

CCTV report shows the clay private sewer pipe is cracked in number of places, so needs to be replaced. I would prefer not to have to dig it out if possible due to access issues and garden on top of it, so I am interested in finding out if relining the pipe with some resin to form a pipe inside pipe would be an option, or failing this horizontal trenching and laying the new pipe that way. I have a public sewage manhole on the property from where one end of the pipe can be accessed, and if buchan trap is no longer needed, then we can remove it and access the other side of the pipe under the garden from there. The distance between buchan trap and public sewage connection is approx. 8m. The section from buchan trap to the house will also need to be relined but this can be also dug out if needed as there is nothing growing there and there should be an inspection chamber under the deck to cover that section which is also approx. 8m. I was told that this section is at around 30cm depth (from buchan trap to the house).

While it took a bit to get the communication going, nce Martin was on the job, he took on board everything I said about future proofing the drainage for the new addition of the studio bathroom as well as house renovation and built the drain to my request. He managed to dig everything manually and minimise disturbance to my garden, which I thoroughly appreciated. I learnt a lot watching him work, and will definitely try to use his services again if he is available for the remainder of my project.
