We are currently planning to install a fire, we are considering several options. One option has us demolish/remove the current chimney breast and install a free standing fire in that space. This will alter the ornamental plaster ceiling edging around the room. The current piece that will be removed is approx 154cm wide and 37cm deep. Looking for a quote/advice about whether it's possible to cut out, preserve and move a chunk of ornamental ceiling into the gap and reattach it so it's a flat border, or whether it's possible to copy the old design and put new plaster in the gap to achieve the same result.
