Fibre Cement Sheet Joint Repairs

We have an extension which is fibre cement sheet with a stucco effect to match the main house. It was done in the 90s and the sheets look like they were joined with a silicone like substance. A builder friend has recommend these get fixed and it may be worth getting the whole extension replastered. Hoping to get this done as soon as possible as getting ready to paint the house.
