Skim plaster coat

Hi, I would like two adjacent rooms joined by a large archway to get a skim coat over old textured wallpaper to prepare it for painting. The wallpaper has good adhesion, but there are areas around the top of the wall where it's been ripped off with sticky tape (from when asbestos plaster was being removed from the ceiling.) The room dimensions are about 2.8x2.75m and 2.8x4.7m, with ceiling height about 2.7m If there's a chance to do this before Christmas so we can paint over the holidays, that would be awesome.
