Refix Plaster Round Decorative Fitting Above Light Fitting

Hi , in our dining room a plaster fitting came undone but not completely. We had a sparky disconnect the light fitting by 2 screws that was all that was holding it up so it is down now, the ceiling looks pretty clean and under the plaster fitting not much to do to refix it. The plaster round cornice is about 68cm in diameter. The sparky said in his opinion there was not a lot of plaster holding it up originally. Needs something to support it while the new plaster/fixing product dries. Normal stud height.
