Contractor made contact quickly and provided quote which I accepted. Work was completed on time but not to the required standard so I had to ask them to return. Job still not 100% but I needed to move things along. Workers used my tenants kitchen sink and bench to mix and clean their plaster!! Contractor asked me if I wanted to pay 'cash' which I was not happy about. When invoice came it was the quoted price (which was including GST) with GST added to it, plus the invoice was not a Tax Invoice as required. I offered to pay by internet banking which would have gone in the next day, but they said it wasn't good enough, so I wrote them a cash cheque as they requested. When the bank refused to cash it for them they expected me to drop everything and come running. All up a very average, and on occasion, annoying experience.

Tradesperson reply
"(1) work completed but not to the required standard. Our response: You left us an online message you were surprised not to see us on job site. We had completed the job. If you find it was not to your satisfaction, you notify us first before you expect us to be there. My worker was on site immediately after you had sent us a message. We found out the only work left undone and incomplete was for the painter to do. (2) your tenants sink used for mixing plaster. Our response: We didn't use it for mixing plaster, we used it only for washing our hands. Also, there was no warning sign put in place to indicate that the sink was half fixed. You only did that when we found out after our using the sink and water had leaked underneath. (3) payment in cash--Our response: Isn't that supposed to be when agreed upon by both? You said you didn't like it, so what is the fuss about it? We did not go ahead with that. Besides, we had an urgent need at the time that cash seemed to be the most apparent thing to do. Was it so wrong to ask for payment in cash? (3) quoted invoice with gst inclusive online. Our response:---You query my quote offline via email. You specifically asked if quote included gst, I said gst excluded. You said you had accepted the quote, even though you knew our quote was in contrast to the quote online. I acknowledged that that was a mistake on our part and that we were happy to go along with the gst inclusive quote online. Ironically, you intentionally waited for the last minute to query again when you had already said you had accepted our quote offline. You said you would put in payments the next day. You didn't respond. We made contacts with you again after 3 days of no word from you. Then you started dictating us to align our invoice offline with online quote and to submit invoice accordingly. Please be informed that our GST number had already been identified previously when you made an inquiry with reference to the rates of windows which included as part of the online notification. (Please refer to our online communication as specified) The only reason why we requested to make cheque payment was due to your delayed response to our request to make payments by midweek. Cheque payment was our last resort as we were already in the weekend period where internet payments would be deferred to the next week on Tuesday. Even after you agreed to make the cheque, we already found it to be even more difficult as your cheque were non transferable. This had meant that we paid extra bank fees to get it transferable to meet our deadline obligation, something you never considered as you delayed responding to us. You certainly make life difficult for others and I hope you would deal reasonably with other tradesmen because you intentionally endeavor to make things difficult for us. Note to Builderscrack administrators: Please note that this is a delay of response as I made several attempts to do so, but continue to have made keyboard errors and have lost lengthy submissions of feedback."
