Skim coat - bedroom

We have just removed wallpaper from the bedroom walls and the condition underneath is pretty average. We intended to just fill a few holes etc then paint, but looks like we will need it skim coated first. Floor area of room is approx 4m x 3.4m (with a couple inlets etc). Just need it prepared so we can come in and paint it ourselves. Likely to need hallway (and eventually living areas) done soon too.
