Skimming hallway and stairwell

We’ve recently removed wallpaper from the hallway and stairwell in our 3bdrm 1980s home, and need it skimmed so we can paint it. We’re doing a slow room by room renovation in our first home. It’s pretty old gib board, but there aren’t any cracks in the original plaster. So I think that bodes well... It’s not an urgent job, happy to wait for the right person to help.
