We require to fix some new gib lining over some existing plaster board linings in two rooms at 1358 Hinemoa St as shown on the attached drawing 23865 sheet 2 of 2 to upgrade the bracing.
1. Background – The existing tenants in the building are moving out on 31/5/21. We wish to take the opportunity to upgrade the seismic rating of the building to greater than 70% NBS. BSK Consulting Engineers have reviewed the existing building bracing and recommended the bracing additions shown on the attached drawing.
2. Work required – New bracing is to be fixed over the top of existing plaster board linings in accordance with GIB EzyBrace Systems specification GS1-N. Prior to fixing the new bracing, remove existing scotias, architraves and skirtings, punch access holes in the base of the existing plaster board linings at approximately 600mm centres to fix the existing bottom plate as specified. After fixing the new bracing replace the existing scotias, architraves and skirtings ready for plastering by others. New Gib linings also to be fitted above and under the existing windows. (We estimate 10 No ... gib sheets will be required.)
3. Timing – As the building bracing we will be changed we have applied for Building Consent which we hope will be granted later this month or early May 2021. The work involves only 2 of the rooms in the building and we are hopeful that the existing tenants will allow us to access the building on 17/5/21 whilst they are moving out or if this is not possible it will be 1/6/21.
