We have recently purchased our home which is a 1920s villa style. Builders report came up with signs of borer in the roof framing, not sure if this is current or historic. The framing looks to have been reinforced with modern treated timber at some point. We removed carpet from the floor in the lounge (a mix of original kauri and suspected rimu addition) and have found active borer in one floor board - two toothed longhorn. We will probably need to replace this floorboard but would like further investigation to see if borer has spread elsewhere.
