Borer treatment

Job description

Borer
Christchurch

We have signs of borer in the interior and exterior timber of our house which we would like to be treated to prevent further damage. Ideally we would like to treat the roofspace and the subfloor as well. The vast majority of the holes that we can see do not appear to have dust around them. The house is a single-storey weatherboard with a footprint of approximately 120 square metres and most of it was built between approximately 1930 and 1939. It has a reasonably large amount of interior timber paneling which looks to be varnished rimu. Some of the walls are plasterboard and timber, and some others appear to be lath and plaster. Joinery is timber. Roof is metal. The floor looks to all be timber, the foundations consist of a perimeter concrete ring with timber piles. There is a detached garage consisting of metal over a timber frame. We have a builder's report from when we bought the property a few years ago which has some further information and can supply that if required. Our understanding from having insulation installed is that the roof space is cramped in one area and there is limited clearance in the subfloor space in one half of the house. Three adults and two cats live at the property. We are happy to book the cats with a cattery and have friends and family nearby to stay with if that assists.
