Job description

Exterior Painting
Wellington

I need to paint the previously oiled cedar weatherboard faces of our house. I have actually started the job but found I was a bit too old to persevere. The job has to include: 1.Brushing and lightly sanding down the existing weatherboards to remove old and flaking oil stain. 2.Spray with Resene Moss & mould. 3. One coat of Resene wood primer -oil based. 4. Repair minor flaws, check scribers to windows and box corners, using contract filler and modified silicone sealant at the joins. 5. One coat of Resene enamel undercoat. 6. Two coats of Resene acrylic top coat: SONYX 101 Cool Colour ‘DARK RUM’ The upper north face and balcony sides done by myself are excluded from scope. The Harditex faces have been recently painted and are also not in scope. Total wall area is around 90 sq m but that includes windows so paintable area is likely only 70 sq m. The section is easy and flat for access.

The workmanship from Noah and Dayna was excellent. They detailed around the windows perfectly. The preparation work for the rough-sawn cedar was comprehensive. No over-spray or splatter even though they had to cope with strong northerlies for much of the time. The job timing was delayed as their previous job had an extended scope, then we had the Christmas/New year break. It was not a big deal for us as I had already indicated we were flexible. The final bill was within 1% of quote.
