Job description

Exterior Painting
Ruapehu

We would like the blue shadowclad walls and grey trim of our home repainted. And you can have a holiday here if you wanted to. We would be happy to provide you with meals, plus accommodation near our house, and you could stay on for two or three days longer if you wanted to go biking or do bush walks. Our house is a basic rectangular 98 sq m Lockwood built in 2004 with shadowclad plywood walls and aluminium window frames, with four corrugated alcoves that don't need painting. Plus front and one full shadowclad wall on our garage, painted dark blue 10 years ago and now oxidised on the sunny sides, but not lifting anywhere. The roof does not need painting. Paint can be purchased and tinted at Placemakers here in Ohakune. Total blue area of house, garden shed and garage is 101 sq m. I don't know how many coats would be needed. 1? 2? We need a good painter who won’t drip paint on the deck and window frames.

Rick took the time and effort to do a very thorough job of the walls, trim and guttering of our house. He also explained what special work needed to be done on some areas, and why. Unlike painters who waterblast, mask and spray the walls in a couple of days, Rick carefully scrubbed each section with sugar soap then carefully applied the paint with a brush, adding more paint to sections of wall where the wood soaked up the paint and erecting a scaffold to get to high areas.
