Prepping and painting two exterior windows

We have two exterior windows that need sanding, prepping and painting. The windows are on the ground floor but will need a ladder to reach the tops. The windows are on a 1920s bungalow and need to remain operational (i.e. cant' paint over the window openings thereby sealing the windows). The windows have trees close by them, including one apple tree, so access can be slightly tight and care needs to be taken. Photo's attached. I can supply the paint but please provide other tools (brushes, sandpaper, trays etc). Paint will be Resene Lumbersider.
