Window frame and small ceiling paint cracks touch ups

We are fixing up our house and want to freshen up a few of the internal window frames where the paint has come away in some areas. Also I think from earthquakes there are small cracks in ceiling paint to be sanded back and touched up. Hopefully quite a small job, but I don't want to attempt windows myself and not sure how to get the ceilings nice and smooth without redoing the whole lot (as mostly in great shape all painted 6 years ago.)
