Painting ceilings in our house

We need most of our rooms' ceilings painted as we are selling our house. We have some new carpet already installed in the lounge but the rest of the house needs to be re-carpeted - possibly a good time to paint before the new carpet goes down. So time frame would be in the next couple of weeks. There is a possibility of painting a little bit outside beside the gutters, but it's hard to explain - have given an example in Photo 2. Photo 1 is an example of our kitchen ceiling.
