I have a new steel firearms safe that needs installation in a wardrobe, on a wooden floor. As per police requirements: Where the steel safe, steel box or steel cabinet is bolted to a wooden floor, it should be bolted through the floor to a 6mm mild steel plate (or equivalent), which exceeds the floor area of the cabinet and is retained on at least two floor joists in the sub-floor space. All nuts should be on the inside of the cabinet with the bolts welded or burred to resist removal. Police recommends that the steel safe, steel box or steel cabinet be bolted into a confined space, such as a wardrobe or a cupboard.
