Deck step edge lighting

Would like an LED strip (approx 5.5m) to be recessed into the back edge of our deck step to provide a glow for the edge. there is a gap along the yellow line. we would like the light to be activated by a sensor located near the door of the house (or best suited) An outdoor plug would be the closest point to hook into marked in the blue circle.
