About 30 years ago we edged the garden with rolls of tanalised timber shooks. You know the stuff - curved on one side, flat sawn on the other, 30 cm deep, with wires stapled to the back of each piece so that you can unroll the stuff and stick it in a narrow trench, leaving a wall about 9 cm high. It works fine until it finally rots. We need to replace it all, since it's becoming brittle and snapping off or rotting away. That means digging it out, cleaning the trench, replacing the timber and filling the trench in again while disturbing the lawn and the garden as little as possible. I've measured the edging at just over 35 metres. Right now this dry weather has shrunk the soil and loosened the timber, so it may be easier and cleaner to replace now than in winter.

Izzy and Kelly were competent, friendly and hardworking. They were easy to deal with and did a tidy and professional job. I'd be happy to use them again.
