Retaining wall

Job description

Landscape Design
Wellington

33m long retaining wall to be built on boundary, at the bottom of a sloping section. No excavation required. I will backfill at a later date - what I need your help with is the construction of the wall. About 20m of the length of the boundary is level - the balance has a gentle fall of just under a metre. The wall is to be a metre high, with a metre high fence on top. I will construct the fence - ideally using the posts of the retaining wall (so my preference is to use --- posts). Note that access to the boundary is restricted by a gate and a couple of steps - a two person post hole borer will be required, rather than a machine mounted auger. I have another boundary to fence in the next couple of months, so if this job works out, there is likely to be another job off the back of it ... Work to be completed by end of January.

Matt's response was immediate and tailored - he'd thought about the job and timing, and gave immediate confidence that he had the requisite skills and experience. Matt's calculations for the retaining wall were thorough and demonstrated a high level of professionalism. He called several times to clarify aspects of the job and to discuss options, and shopped around for the best price on materials. This was a big job, but nothing was a hassle. Matt's careful attention to detail resulted in a very high quality finish. I'm looking forward to working with Matt on my next project in a couple of months, and have no hesitation in recommending his work to others.

"Karl is about as good a client as a chippy could ever hope to get. There would be no stress in this sector if only every client was like you. Karl was a hands on client we worked in the trenches together digging holes, plumbing posts everything. Would helped me pour concrete as well if he didn't have a desk job to attend! All in all awesome job, awesome client who at the end had gone from a client to a good work mate. Hope all is well"
