Lawn - advice for a new lawn. (Should be easy!)

We have a hand-sown lawn - 7 months old, sown in May (yes, I know) and going fairly well. But - It has some rough spots, struggling spots and good spots. We need an hour's advice from an expert. "Hey, it needs Weed'n'Feed" or "it's grass grub in that bit", or the ultimate "OK - I think I see what's happening".
