Cleaning out pond, installing filter, recommending fish

We have a pond at our house which the previous owners have not maintained. We would like to revive it and ideally have a few fish in it. The job is to clean out the sludge, mud etc, install filter (maybe solar) and make it habitable for a few hardy fish. Photos attached. Need someone with experience with water features and open to other landscaping suggestions around the pond.
