Job description

Landscape Retaining Walls (Below 1.5m)
North Shore

I'm looking for a second quote on some work on a retaining wall and decking. Details are: Ongoing erosion of the soils within the enclosed subfloor needs to be addressed to ensure the ongoing performance of the house foundations and external moisture controls. We recommend that the subfloor area is inspected to confirm that the subsoils and house foundations are stable and that surface water runoff is not entering the area. The loose soil deposits need to be removed and the area stabilised as appropriate. Loose soil to be removed under house and barrier preventing future erosion added. Polythene added to ground. Hardiflex sheet removed under deck for easy access and reinstated. Front entry retaining wall and associated concrete path are to be replaced with elements complying with the NZ Building Code. Entrance retaining wall requires bracing with additional posts and a new concrete path. Remove existing concrete path on top of retaining wall and a section of driveway for new retaining wall poles. Bore holes and brace poles in ground for inspection. Reinstate path and driveway. Driveway retaining wall has a gap between the timber retaining wall and the concrete slab to be filled with a suitable flexible sealant installed on a PEF backing rod. The deck barrier construction is not compliant with the NZ Building Code due to the notch in the 90x90 posts near the deck fixings, the form and fixings of the edge or boundary joists, the bearer to post fixings and the overall lateral bracing of the deck structure. The existing deck is to be modified as required to provide barrier posts, deck joists, fixings and bracing in accordance with the requirements of the NZ Building Code. Add strip bracing under deck. Provide 90 x 90 barrier posts, deck joists, cpc40 fixings and bracing in accordance with the requirements of the NZ Building Code. There is some vertical cracking to the concrete blocks at the base of the northeast corner of the garage, predominately hairline cracks. The cracks to be chased out and then filled with an appropriate flexible sealant.
