Front and back landscaping

Need to add some life to our front and back section. We had the weed mat on for over 5 years so will probably need to regenerate soil. We want to plant some bush plants and year around flowering plants. Need some trees trimmed too and bamboo tree removed. Also needs to be easy to maintain as we have young kids and not much time to spend in the garden.
