Landscape Retaining Walls (Below 1.5m)
Christchurch

Construction of a low height reinforced concrete masonry block retaining wall with reinforced concrete footing. Soil behind wall non-load bearing. Site Port Hills clay. Gentle to moderate slope. 390x190x190mm concrete block – staggered pattern. 40mm capping blocks on top of wall. Excavated footing clay to be placed on grass above construction area. Corrugated drainage pipe with soil filter wrap on footing at base of wall. Water proofing to back of wall. Expansion joint with filler and sealant halfway along longest wall. 30cm of drainage metal behind the wall and reaching up to 20cm from top. Filter cloth to separate the drainage material and soil behind the wall. Filter cloth on top of metal to allow later addition of soil.
