Remove old driveway & prepare for new pathing / chip -- w/c 21 Feb
Job description
We are preparing our old house for sale and want to re-landscape the driveway and entrance areas. Design: There is an existing asphalt driveway that goes most of the way down to the back of our (gently sloping) section. At the front, there is an old, damaged concrete path. We intend to replace the driveway/garage entrance area with chip, and lay new paths to the front door/garage and to the rear deck (sleeper edging + concrete paver stepping stones + chip). We're looking for a contractor to scrape out & remove the existing asphalt/concrete and backfill/compact the areas in preparation for the new paths. (Full scope below.) Timeframe: **We need this work to be completed by Friday 25 Feb. ** We're well aware this is short notice but unfortunately we had another arrangement fall through. We know it's a bit of a long shot, but that's why we're posting it here! Maybe you've had some time open up next week at short notice and can help us out. Full scope: Front of section (to gateway) * Scrape out & remove asphalt from driveway + dig out ca. 100mm * Remove concrete nibs along driveway * Remove & dispose old concrete tiles/bricks in front of garage * Scrape out & remove fill in front of garage (dig out ca. 100mm) * Dig out & remove remainder of old concrete path to house * Dig out & remove grass between driveway and house * Dig out & remove grass between house & fence * Fill new driveway, garage entrance and new path areas with AP40 & compact * Lay sleepers to edge new driveway, garage entrance and new path areas (client to supply sleepers) Back of section (from gate) * Scrape out & remove asphalt from driveway + dig out ca. 100mm. * Remove concrete nibs along driveway * Remove concrete kerb/footing along house * Remove 2 angled concrete steps near back door * Break out old washing line * Fill new pathway section with AP40 & compact (ca. 1200mm wide) * Lay sleepers to edge new path and lawn section (client to supply sleepers) * Fill remainder of old driveway section with soil (for ready lawn) * Fill new washing line area with AP40 & compact Dimensions (front): - Existing driveway is ca. 13.0m x 3.0m - Area in front of garage is ca. 6.0m x 3.0m - Existing concrete path is ca. 1.0m x 4.0m - Grass to remove is ca. 20 m2 total Dimensions (back): - Existing driveway is ca. 15.5m x 3.0m - Concrete kerbing ca. 4 m2 - Concrete steps ca. 1 m 2 - New washing line area ca. 6 m2 Site considerations: Quiet side street so easy vehicle access in terms of traffic etc. The house is currently vacant so the site would be yours.
