Paving outdoor patio with concrete pavers & pebbles

We would like do a simple & cost-effective paving job in our outdoor patio. The area is approximately 20m2 (see attached photo of our patio currently with bricks). We would like to lay --- paving stones with pebbles in between (see attached second photo, which is the look we are trying to achieve). We plan to use the pebbles to help with drainage, plus to minimise the amount of pavers needed and cutting required (since the pebbles can be laid around the edges where the shape is not uniform). We are on a tight budget, and need the work done quickly (ideally pre-Christmas). We will remove the bricks first, and can assist with labor work on the day too, if needed.
