We've put an offer on a house in Greymouth and the building report has shown that the house is sitting very low to the ground, with the kitchen/bathroom end actually on the ground. Flooring has been replaced with chip board but has no plastic or Insulation to protect it from the wet. No ventilation under the house. Water found under the house. 100 year old renovated house. Ground would need to be dug to gain access to put plastic/Insulation under. Hill behind house. Builder suggested drains need to be dug around the house to prevent water going under the house. Just want to get a rough estimate on what all this would cost to get fixed, so we can decide wether to go ahead with the purchase of this house?
