Job description

Fire Safety Inspections
North Shore

Sir or Madam, I have a two-bedroom unit, first floor front in a four-unit block, in Devonport; 3/14 Ewen Alison Ave. Construction is brick with concrete tiled roof. A builder who recently reviewed block plans has determined units in it are fire safety compliant as at time of construction, i.e. 1974. He said this compliance is valid through time as long as no major renovations or structural changes are made. None have been made to my unit to the best of my knowledge. My insurance company IAG, have corroborated this. The owners adjoining my unit (behind and below) have requested information as to whether my unit dividing walls and floor/ceilings are fireproof compliant, I am assuming to contemporary standards. I do not know this for sure and the builder who reviewed plans didn’t comment specifically on this, though he did say that the fading of plan lines in places meant he couldn’t determine the exact nature of construction materials between floor and ceiling. The other issue is, I understand, the thickness of gib-boarding between my unit and the one behind. Could you send my an inspection and report estimate for a first floor two bedroom unit? I can submit to you floor plans if required. Also, when might your company be able to undertake an inspection? Thank you in advance of your reply, regards, Wayne Stagg
