Have just got a free standing log fire and wanting to install it into our home. We have an old existing open fireplace in the lounge where I thought we could perhaps put it in - the chimney is clean but my queries are; 1. Is it able to be put in the old fireplace? or will it loose its heat up the chimney as they are supposed to be "free standing" 2. Also could we extend the flue to a bend before going up chimney?
