Rinnai Gas heater removal

Rinnai Gas heater (Energysaver 556ftr) needs to be removed-It is broken and not needed anymore. It sits on the floor and is against a wall with a flue directly behind it. Ideally would like this hole from the flue filled in as well. I am not sure if the gas heater is salvageable-I am happy for it to be disposed of.
