We have been running the heat pump 23 degrees celsius and level one on the fan as advised by the power company. We have been running heat pump throughout the day during winter as we got a small son who is just 07 months old. Even though we followed those instructions during the last 02 months we got an electricity bill of more than $400 NZD. The electricity bill for last month was $445.00 NZD. We tried changing the power companies as well but it was no help. We tracked the power consumption using the mobile apps provided by the power companies and noticed that even though we are not using other utilities, electricity per day is quite high if we keep the heat pump turned on. So that is why we think we might be getting a higher electricity bill due to the heat pump. At the same time, the noise coming from the outside unit of the heat pump is very loud and abnormal. Sometimes it sounds like a lawnmower.
