House Repair & Maintenance
Waitakere

Message 29th January --- am Please quote on the following modification The new surface will be slanted. The current tiled step at tiled surface is to drop 25mm (Min 20mm) relative to the tiled surface at the door. The current bearing structure is uniformly 50mm under the tiled surface. Mark the stair where the new surface should be lowered to. This is to provide water flow to the stair. Repair broken wooden structure as far as possible. Strengthen support by adding new cross beam connections. The client has H rated wood that can be used for this. Remove broken tile surface and MDF support. Install and apply suitable multi plywood surface (7 ply at least) to the bearing structure. The surface and sides of the plied wood should be covered with 2 layers of epoxy paint to ensure water proofing. The tiled dimensions are approximately 1.56 m in width and 0.79m short length -Left and 0.89m long length -Right -door to stair. See attached photos. The top should be finished with a non- slip tiled surface. The edge tiles at step should fit and match the other tiles in width, so that common grouting gaps can be implemented, to help water flow off the surface. (Colour and edging tiles to be recommended by client) The grouting gaps, tiled and edge surface should slant 20-25mm higher at the door and water should run away to stair, every where on the tiled surface, when completed.
