Move an internal non-loadbearing wall ca 40cm across. The wall does have powerpoints on both sides but no light switches. About the house: 1986 solid timber home. External walls are timber on internally exposed frames, internal walls are all gib. Sort of lockwood style but not a lockwood, I suspect it is one of the kit homes sold by signature at the time. The central wall under the roof ridge is loadbearing and will not be altered. The wall we want to remove/rebuild is between two bedrooms and we want it moved to be able to install bookshelves in the smaller room. Resulting wall will need power points on both sides again in similar positions but with the power point by the window in the smaller room being a quad. All existing walls have beams at the top, even where they are not aligned to existing beams from the exposed timber ceiling, but I am open to discussing a different solution. If sound insulation could be inserted during the work this would be a bonus. The house is currently vacant but I will need to move in early October.
