Permanently installing slide-in dog door.

We have a slide-in dog door (Hartman’s brand) that needs to be permanently installed so we can open and close our ranch slider. This would probably involve moving some locks, fitting weather strips, and installing a small piece of plastic or metal where the insert doesn’t quite meet the door frame (we don’t have an extension piece and so we’re hoping one can be made up). Hopefully the photos make sense.
