Mount TV on wall

Had handyman out to mount TV on wall using a bracket I bought with the TV. Handyman wasn't sure quite how it worked. I now have a cracked TV and half a bracket attached to a piece of wood that is nailed to the wall. I just want someone who has done this before to please come sort out this mess. Monster Mounts brand, box says it fits OLED TVs. But then the box also says 'easy to install' so who knows.
